Where roads meet, people meet.
Eksjö was already a long time ago the crossroad point between two main roads: the north southbound from Stockholm to the coastal land of Småland and Blekinge, and the east-westbound that links the Kattegatt to the Baltic Sea.
Road 40 between Jönköping-Västervik spans the county from east to west, and crosses road 32 in Eksjö, which connects Mjölby-Vetlanda in a north-south direction.
You can reach Eksjö from Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and even from Kastrup and from the airport at Jönköping (65 km)

The railway between Nässjö-Hultsfred-Oskarshamn connects all of the county’s main cities.
With the X2000 train you can quickly reach Stockholm or Malmö-Kastrup-Köpenhamn from the railway hub of Nässjö, which is only about 20km west of Eksjö. From Nässjö, there are several direct trains to Gothenburg, as well as good connections to Jönköping-Falköping-Skövde, Vetlanda-Åseda, Vaggeryd-Värnamo-Halmstad and Tranås-Linköping-Norrköping.
